SUMMARY
In the estimating world, the focus is on costs, which is normal, as runaway costs can sink any program. Less well understood is the relationship among costs, features, and the Quantity produced for any given project. Specifically, the Value of various product features is seldom compared to their costs, as these are constrained by demand and learning curves, both of which can change. This paper offers a solution that; it first captures and then reduces these terms. Financial CATscans take representative 2D Demand Planes (with Quantity and Price as dimensions) and discover Demand Frontiers. That Frontier sets the Price-Quantity limits. If we pick a target Quantity, we set a limiting Price. A Price limit, in turn, reveals an adjacent 3D Value Space (with Feature 1, Feature 2, and Price as dimensions). Financial CATscans reveal how to reduce the resulting 4D systems to a single term that sets product specifications.

Doug Howarth, a Keynote for Chartwell Speakers, discovered Hypernomics, a field that studies markets in 4+ dimensions.
