The ICEAA Board has approved transitioning from the Software SIG to a dedicated Software Content Stewardship Council to ensure ongoing stewardship of CEBoK-S. (Download explanatory PDF)
What’s changing
- The Software SIG is being sunset.
- We are forming the Software Content Stewardship Council to maintain and grow CEBoK-S and launch the Software Estimation Wiki (slides 3–4, 9–11).
- Three-tier structure (slides 5–6):
-
- Stewardship Committee (3–4, 24-month rotation; includes ICEAA VP of Professional Development)
- Contributors Group (4–6 SMEs, 18-month rotation; modular training + Wiki)
- Quality Review Circle (3–5, 12-month rotation; structured reviews)
Call for nominations / volunteers
- Window: Now through May 1, 2026
- Apply/Nominate: complete the form below
- Expected commitment: 5–10 hours/month, aligned to content release and review cycles (slides 9–11 outline focus areas and core activities)
Transition details
- Current SIG work (draft modules, outlines, references) will be migrated into the new editorial backlog to preserve continuity.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Software SIG and especially those who contributed to CEBoK-S and the certification. We’re excited to continue this work together under a structure designed for long-term stewardship and impact.
How are members selected?
Applications will be reviewed by the Stewardship Committee with ICEAA oversight to ensure balance across domains (government, industry, academia) and skills (estimating, software engineering, calibration/data).
Can I contribute ad-hoc?
Yes—sign up as an ad-hoc contributor/reviewer to join topical sprints (e.g., Agile/DevSecOps, sustainment, AI/ML, cloud/COTS).
What is the release cadence?
Target annual content releases for CEBoK-S, with interim updates to the Software Estimation Wiki and errata as needed.
