The Greater Alabama Chapter of ICEAA is pleased to present a scholarship opportunity to deserving students in the mathematics, statistics, and business/finance fields.
What is ICEAA?
The International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association is a nonprofit organization that strives to promote and enhance the profession of cost estimating and analysis with the primary goal of fostering the professional growth of our members in cost estimating, cost analysis, and allied fields. ICEAA is represented locally by more than 20 chapters nationwide and international affiliates in Australia, Canada, Japan and the United Kingdom.
What does a cost estimator/analyst do?
A cost estimator/analyst has a critical responsibility to ensure every dollar is spent in the most efficient and effective manner. Not only do cost practitioners identify factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor, but they must also be able to clearly convey those findings to leaders to help them make the best decision possible. Cost practitioners are experts in research techniques and are able to collaborate with people of all backgrounds to get the data they need. If you enjoy making a tangible and measurable difference in critical efforts around the globe, cost estimation and analysis might be perfect for you.
Who should apply for this scholarship?
Candidates attending colleges and universities in the northern Alabama area are encouraged to apply. Cost estimation and analysis encompasses several academic fields. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing studies with a combination of mathematics (including statistics) and business or finance. Candidates that express an interest in career fields incorporating cost estimation and analysis are preferred.
This scholarship will award $1,500 and a one-year membership to ICEAA.
