SUMMARY:ICEAA TechShowcase: Modeling Unit Learning Curves from Lot Data
DESCRIPTION:Palisade Presents: \n \nModeling Unit Learning Curves from Lot Data\nWednesday\, April 28 2021\n12 noon EDT \nEstimating the cost of a project or manufacturing operation where the effect of learning is anticipated can pose a calculational challenge\, especially when extrapolating from lot data. After a brief introduction covering the basics of unit learning/experience curves\, this webinar will: demonstrate how to make the appropriate transformations for modeling a power curve from lot data; use Excel’s Goal Seek to solve for the unknown learning curve “slope;” and with the resulting regression equation’s error term as the input variable run an @RISK simulation for the cost of a succeeding lot.\n \nPresented by Dr. Steve Van Drew \nDr. Steve Van Drew embodies the jack-of-all trades lifestyle as a former leader/manager\, academician\, and analytical practitioner\, with a multi-disciplinary education in engineering\, applied economics\, and management science/operations research. Steve enjoys a busy “retirement” near Richmond\, VA\, and yet manages to dedicate time to share his passion for spreadsheet modeling and @RISK.
