In this paper we talk about how perceptions and preferences play an important role at very early stages of a bid / pursuits lifecycle. This is an attempt to study and present various preferred approaches adopted by winning teams and their usefulness on critical parameters of Software Estimations; viz: Turnaround Time\, Accuracy\, Repeatability and Reproducibility. The views in this paper are based on our internal surveys carried out with SMEs and Engagement Managers at various hierarchical levels.
